5 Calls:Make your voice heard

#Resistance #Information #Advocacy

Now is not the time to be silent. Nor is it the time just complain about what is going on within this nation.

It is time to start voicing opinions about the actions of the government. There are online sources that will help you to direct your calls to the members of Congress

5 Calls: Make your voice heard is a website that provides information on the current issues by providing users with a direct link to the individuals who represent us in Congress.

Calling members of Congress is the most effective way to have your voice heard. Call results are tallied by staffers and given to your representatives, informing them on how their constituents feel about current issues. The sooner you reach out to your representatives about an issue, the more likely it is that your voice will influence their position. Statement from 5 Calls website

Callers are linked to their representatives by location. Contact information and a script is also provided. There are a set of buttons at the end of the page to indicate the response along with an option to skip to the next page. You can also subscribe to a weekly action alert newsletter. (5 Calls)

Why am I recommending this particular action based site?

  • The members of Congress are the decision makers. Each member needs to be aware of what people think about critical issues.
  • The site provides direct link information on the number of calls that can be made and who those calls should be directed to
  • There is evidence based research to support this type of action.
We have to be the ones who take on a form of governing that is showing itself to be a threat to all of the people of this nation.
We cannot always be engaged in street actions or instant responses to negative legislation. This is a direct way to let our lawmakers know that we are paying attention to the way that the business of governance is being conducted.
